Historical background
In 1887, Abbot Danicourt, who was the village priest, rediscovered
Naours caves. With the help of voluntary teams consisting of young
villagers, he cleaned away and reoccupied the ruined galleries.
There he found a lot of miscellaneous objects : vase debris, various
tools (hammers, cranks, spinnning wheels, sickles, knives, scissors)
shoeings from horses, donkeys and mules, along with lots of bones.
